Meet the Taxidermists
“A man who works with his hands is a laborer, a man who works with his hands and his mind is a craftsman, but a man who works with his hands, his mind, and his heart is an artist.”
-Louis Nizer (1902-1994)
Robyn Rocke started this business in 1980 as Edge of the Woods Taxidermy, and in 1999 moved to our current location under the name Rocke Wildlife Studio. He has 36 years experience in all parts of taxidermy and tanning. After discussing your trophies with you, Robyn handles the design and layout of your piece. He also performs form alterations required for custom poses of your animals. It is the satisfaction of creating a fine piece of taxidermy art that has inspired Robyn to maintain the high standards of our studio.
Jacob Rocke has been with us since 2000. His artistic talents are utilized in the fine details of finishing your trophy. Jacob has the ability to understand how colors work together and does all of our airbrush painting of fish, birds, and animals.
Elijah Bafa joined our team in 2017. His specialties include the fine detailed fleshing of skins required for creating accurate facial anatomy and expression. He also prepares skins and forms and assists in the creating of habitat scenes.
All three taxidermists are involved in the mounting procedures, sometimes working together on the same piece, sometimes working in their individual areas of expertise.
